Welcome to our town of Manningtree !
The "Manningtree Ox with a pudding in its belly".
Find out more about and other things this on our interesting
history page.
Manningtree is the smallest town in the UK and sits on the south bank of the river Stour.
We are flanked by the parishes of Lawford and Mistley which make up our great little community in
the heart of the Stour Valley.

Manningtree has over 100 listed buildings and the entire town is within a conservation area.
We have been named as the "
Best-Kept Village in Essex 2010".

Judge for yourself:
We are easy to
find - halfway between
Colchester and Ipswich, just off the A137.
See anything unusual about our town clock?
Each year, for one day in July, we play host to the "Tendring Hundred Farmers' Show".
Our town heaves with activity when thousands of visitors arrive to see the spectacle
of a real country show.
