Here are some pictures that tell you a little about life in our Rotary club.

Our murder mystery is played out by Rotarians and friends during our "Charter Night" celebration dinner. Come quietly now! The murderer at our Charter Night "Murder Mystery" dinner is nabbed good and proper.
Our dinner-speaker tells us about her fascinating life since moving to rural Turkey. She is wearing a traditional costume from her village. See what the press said here. Believe it or not these are genuine Turkish ladies pants worn beneath our speaker's skirt.
Santa Claus, assisted by his Rotary elves,  delivering  Christmas presents to residents at Acorn Village. Our ambassadorial scholar from Japan performing a tea ceremony at one of our meetings.
See anything at the top of Walton Tower? (It's a long way up!). Here is Rotarian Roger Griffiths abseiling down the tower to raise money for the British Red Cross.
On our Frankenberg exchange trip we visited the Eidersee Dam (made famous by the "Dambusters" raid) . Manningtree is twinned with Frankenberg in Germany : Another beautiful Medieval town!
Tasting the local beer during our Frankenberg exchange visit. Swapping club pennants with the Frankenberg Rotary club. You can see some of our pennant collection here.
"Piping in" the haggis on Burns' Night  at the Red Lion. A boat trip to see the Eidersee Dam close up during our Frankenberg visit.
An Inter-club sports evening against Colchester  Trinity on Little Bentley Green featuring  "lizard flinging". No lizards were harmed during this event. Each June we have our club "handover night" where we install our new President, Vice President and Junior Vice President for the next 12 months. (It was a garden party this year).
Celebrating our club coming second (out of two teams) in the lizard flinging competition. An after-dinner talk on the subject of art (note the unusual Mona Lisa).
Collecting our new trailer for the Christmas float. You can see how it was turned into Santa Clause's sleigh here. Ipswich Children's Hospice do great work and we were pleased to hand over the money raised for them in our "Guy Fawkes" collection.
An excellent concert of varied music was held at Mistley Church to raise money for Rwanda's orphans through the Engalynx charity. Off for a fast boat ride with our New Zealand hosts during our exchange visit.
Feeding time for a little lamb at a sheep farm during our New Zealand exchange visit. Seeing a water-fall up close (let's hope those cameras are waterproof!).
Some of our new Rotary friends who looked after us during our New Zealand trip. It is warm in New Zealand and the ice-cream is delicious!
A Senior Citizens' entertainment evening laid on by our club. Back home at the club with our New Zealand additions to our collection of Rotary pennants from around the world.
Some socialising going on at a "friends' evening" where club members bring partners and friends. There are usually over 50 of us at these events. Preparing the inside of our "Rotary shop" that opened for just 3 days as part of the Rotary week event this year. Inside, we staged an exhibition with video displays and posters.
The winning team enjoy a fish 'n' chip supper during the community quiz night to raise money for the shelter-box appeal to provide shelter for the homeless in Haiti. Outside our Rotary shop drumming up trade the old-fashioned way.
Our  President welcomes a new member to our ever-growing club. Our Vice-President hands over sponsorship money to the Manifest Theatre Group for a production of Willy Russell's "Blood Brothers".
Dinner time for our Assistant District Governor (who is a member of our club!) during a Rotary "District 1240" conference. Not a typical Rotary Club meeting but a fancy-dress evening during a  District conference.
District conferences are attended by any members of all clubs within the district. As a result they can be quite large events! A Rotary International and World Community Service Award is bestowed upon a club member.
On the look out for donors during a street collection as part of Rotary week. Winning a trophy at the end of a tournament at Harwich Golf Club.
Some fun going on during our Christmas meal. Obviously delighted at the way the golf turned out!
We had an after-dinner talk on millinery at a friends' night. Two members' partners had fun trying on the hats with help from our speaker. Club members on board a sailing barge travelling along the River Orwell at dusk to raise money for Engalynx.
Member, Colin Firmin is presented with a "Paul Harris Fellowship". A rare honour bestowed for exceptional service to the community. Collecting in Market Square for the "Make Polio History" campaign during Rotary week.
